WHAT IS BOX FIT?

Box Fit is an extremely efficient and effective way to get intro world-class shape. Our workouts consist of constantly varied, functional movements (like pushups and pullups, deadlifts and squats, gymnastics, kettlebells, running, rowing, and Olympic lifting), executed at high intensity in a group setting. Essentially, a fun, friendly, yet high-intensity boot camp, with weights.

HOW IS BOX FIT DIFFERENT?

It is so varied that you will never get bored. All the exercises work with multiple joints and use the body, unlike with body building. All the movement are efficient and functional. Box Fitters must be ready for the unknown all the time so they train differently every day.

WHAT IS A WOD?

WOD is basically an abbreviation of Workout of the Day. Each day there is a new workout, they are posted online here and of course written on the board when you come in to work out.

WHERE IS BOX FIT DOGS BARCELONA?

We are in Poble Sec neighborhood at Carrer de SalvĂ , 30, 08004 Barcelona. The 2 metro station are Poble Sec and Parallel and we are only 15 min walk from the beach. GET THROUGH THE BIG DOOR or RING THE BELL.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

It depends. We offer several monthly membership options and 3-5 or 10-class coupon. Some of our members choose to use a month-to-month membership while others make a commitment in return for a lower monthly payment. We also have a discount for Students / Police / Army / Unemployed. WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN MY FIRST CLASS?

The first Box Fit class should be an introductory class where you are taught the right movements and will have to do some WOD that beginners are able to do. You will learn some of the lingo. Don’t show up to a regular Box Fit class without having any experience in sports. The first class will be relatively hard but should not kill you.

DO I NEED EXPERIENCE OR SOME MINIMUM LEVEL OF FITNESS?

Box Fit is for anyone, regardless of their age or fitness level. If you care about health, real-world performance, or just want to look better naked, Box Fit is for you.

AM I TOO OLD FOR BOX FIT?

No. You are never too old to try Box Fit.

HOW STRONG DO I NEED TO BE?

You don’t need to be strong at all, you get strong by doing Box Fit. Many beginners can®t lift the empty barbell at first. The coaches will help you decide what weights you should work with in the beginning.

I HAVE NEVER DONE BOX FIT BUT I AM AN AWESOME ATHLETE. CAN I SKIP BOX FIT FOUNDATIONS?

No. We require everyone new to Box Fit to take Foundations Class so that we can make sure all of our members learn the basics of safe and effective movement. More information on Foundations class here.

CAN I JUST COME AND WORKOUT ON MY OWN?

No. We think you’ll get better, safer, faster results by working with a qualified coach – either in classes or one-on-one sessions – than working out alone. We offer 3 hours open gym every Sundays from 10:00 to 13:00.

WHY DO BOX FIT GYMS CHARGE MORE THAN OTHER REGULAR GYMS?

In a box, when you are in a class, there is usually a maximum of 10- 15 people doing the workout, so the coach can assist every single person on a personal level. All the coaches are professional and have done a coaching seminar to be able to work at an affiliate.

IS BOX FIT SAFE?

You can injure yourself in any activity, but BOx Fit is safer than many activities people perform every day. We work with people in 3 stages. First: mechanics (learning how to do the movements with correct technique), Second: Consistency (the ability to do the movements over and over again with safe and relatively efficient technique), Third: Intensity (the speed at which you do the movements). One does not come before the other.

”IF I HAVE A PREVIOUS INJURY, CAN I STILL DO BOX FIT?

Please talk to your doctor before starting Box Fit, or any fitness or nutrition program. Most coaches ask in your first class if you have any injuries or any problems in your body before starting the workout. If you have back problems for example the coach will help you find a way to reduce the strain on your back with a scaling option.

IS IT A CULT?

The first rule about Box Fit is to never shut up about Box Fit.

WILL BOX FIT MAKE ME BULKY?

In short, NO and NO again.

WHAT DO I WEAR?

Heels and a skirt. No we are kidding. Any sort of comfortable workout clothing and athletic shoes will do the trick.

HOW LONG ARE THE WORKOUTS?

All classes are an hour long, but the actual workout will vary from day to day.

DO YOU HAVE SHOWERS?

I‘M FROM OUT OF TOWN. WHAT’S YOUR DROP IN POLICY?

If you are an experienced X Fitter from another affiliate, you are welcome to drop-in with us. Please read our drop-in policy here. Drop-ins are 15 EUR.

DO YOU SELL T-SHIRTS?

Yes we do. It costs 20 EUR.
